Grandma
Although my grandma did not directly succumb to the side affects of Alzheimers, she still continues to live through the side effects that ensue with her disease. The daily calls my mom receives, each day her “hi” turning slightly more sad after hearing my frail grandmothers voice ripple in my head. I’m on the other side of the planet and yet I feel her pain from the daily task of defeating the obstacles of her disease every day with me. She is not merely someone experiencing Alzheimers, she’s a fighter, the epitome of strength and fortitude.
