My great aunt had dementia caused by a stroke. She slowly forgot the people around her who she loved and adored. Since she raised my dad like he was her son, he was especially attached to her. Because of this, he will never forgot when he would walk into her room located in assisted living and she would exclaim “¿ quién es él?” (Who is he?). She became more and more confused and eventually forgot everything; even where she was living. She unfortunately pasted away from dementia about twelve years ago
